Done! (For now.) It's nothing fancy but it'll get the job done, hopefully.

General Stuffness

Some life drawings I did in class the week before class ended.

And some weekly sketches for animation class. I think I actually only showed one in class. Oops.

The two bottom cats weren't a part of the assignment. I just really like drawing cats. And Katamari Damacy.

Bumper Sketches

I had a bunch of sketches that I didn't get a chance to scan during the semester, so I'm going to make a few posts to make up for time.

Here are some brain storming sketches for the little girl in my bumper:

And the monster, which I had a much harder time with. I was trying to get away from the typical furry monster thing. So of course, after much brain storming (and Skeletor apparently), that's exactly what I went with.

Done. Finally! I rushed the clean up, and it shows. But I don't think it's too bad. There's actually a camera move between the shot of the girl and the monster. It pans over, then up. It shows up in Flash but not in the mov. I guess you'll have to use your imagination.

Alice 2.0

I fixed a few things. Unfortunately I missed a a bit of a jump when she leans back. I'll have to work on that after Christmas break.

Train Station of Tears

Last layout of the semester. It has it's faults but I can't really afford to fix them right now. In closing, goddamn whatever made me decide that drawing that roof was a good idea.

(My Daffy animation is on the way, I'm having trouble with both Vimeo and blogger's video posting thing.)

October - November Life Drawing

In somewhat chronological order!

For some reason during these last months I've had some really good sessions and some pretty bad ones. Apparently I had the most trouble with the guy models, cuz, uh... Oh wait, there's one.

My latest layout assignment. Based on crowded apartment buildings in Thessaloniki.

Lilo Acting

Quite a few flaws with it, but I felt obligated to post it.
Hopefully it'll be better next time.

Wolfman Build

Made a wolfman character build in Flash for Digital. With snazzy shorts, of course.

Gotta look good for the wolfladies.

Amsterdam Layout

I'm much happier with this layout than I was with my previous one. I really tried to push myself a lot more this time.

Fun Fact!: While doing this assignment I learned that Amsterdam is ridiculously beautiful!

Restaurant Storyboard

Doing this took a lot longer than I thought it would, even on the computer. Have to try for some more dynamic shots than "med close up" next time...

Fun Times with Multiplane Cameras

This took longer than I anticipated. It might have shaved some time off if my first bird attempt didn't look like an epileptic cardboard cutout and I didn't have to redo it. Keyframer is not my friend.

At the end of the day I'm pretty pleased with the results, even though I wanted to tear my face off quite a few times while making it.

September Dump

And the last one's for the Weekly Illustration Blog that I had been ignoring. The topic was "It burns!" In this case, it burns like HYGIENE!

Summer Project: Alienated

I've been keeping myself pretty busy this Summer working on a project my boyfriend and I have had in the works for a while.

From the About page:
Alienated is the story of what happens after the world grows tired of the first alien, and his first attempt to try and go out into the world. It’s a story about first love in your thirties, growing up, and maniacal morons who couldn’t plot their way out of their own skulls.

You can check us out here:

There isn't a whole lot up yet, but I have a backlog of two weeks so far, so it's coming.

Edit: Alienated is now defunct, but the completely pages can be found on my website.

So I'm flying down to Vernon tomorrow to stay with my parents for an, as of yet, unknown amount of time. Yeah, I said I'd be staying in Vancouver for the summer, but that was before I was given the decision of either desperately trying to find a job in retail or spending time with my family and having meals made for me. Hmm, tough decision.

Oh, and for those of you who weren't in the Pitch Party blog, here are mine.

I'm pretty happy with them, even though they didn't make the cut.

Design Characters (so far)

I'm not too sure about the cat's face. It's pretty different from the style of the other two characters... Any crits you guys have would be great!

Abandoned Amusement Park Coloured

Weee, I'm being proactive. Kind of.
Edit: Fixed some stuff after John critiqued it.

Abandoned Amusement Park Pan

Scanned then added onto in Photoshop because I made it too small. Weeee!
